MERCY PROJECT
Hurricane Disaster Response
Church leaders are still assessing needs. The most-affected areas are still under water, but Nazarene disaster response teams are ready to respond as soon as the waters recede. In addition to meeting immediate needs, the response will focus on long-term recovery efforts to help those who have been displaced from their homes.

Three ways you can help in the response:
1) PRAY - Please pray for families and individuals affected by the storm. Pray for those who are trapped in flooded homes. Pray for those who are most vulnerable, especially people with disabilities and seniors. Pray for church leaders and churches responding to the needs around them.
2) GIVE - Churches and individuals around the world can provide support through the Hurricane Harvey Response Fund. Write in "Phoenix Renovation" for the church name at the bottom for giving credit statement.
3) DO - Crisis Care Kits are needed for churches to distribute to disaster victims.

Crisis Care Kits
In the days since Hurricane Harvey pummeled communities in South Texas, more than 8,000 Crisis Care Kits have been shipped from Nazarene Compassionate Ministries (NCM) warehouses to local churches in the affected areas. Those churches have been distributing Crisis Care Kits among other resources to families who have lost everything — all in the name of Christ. The disaster response in South Texas is far from over, and the rebuilding process will take years. Even as churches in South Texas continue to open their doors to flood victims, Hurricane Irma poured down on Caribbean countries, the majority of Florida, and up the East Coast. Churches are mobilizing to serve in affected communities.

More than 3,600 Crisis Care Kits are on the way to the areas effected by the hurricanes but more are needed. The warehouses NCM uses to store and ship the kits are almost empty. We want to help send more their way. Follow the link to see packing instructions and items to purchase. You can drop off the kits on Sunday mornings through October 1st at the Info Desk or at the church office during the week. Packing List

Sarah and Jason's Wedding Celebration
We would like to provide an opportunity for anyone who would like to celebrate Pastor Sarah and Jason's upcoming wedding by bringing cards of blessing and encouragement for them on Sunday, September 24th during Dinner on the Grounds. Pastor Sarah and Jason are unable to invite the entire church because of the capacity of their venue but as a church family, we wanted to offer this opportunity to congratulate them on this new chapter in their lives. If you are inclined to bring a gift, they are registered at Target, Amazon, and Bed, Bath, and Beyond (search names: Sarah Fernandez and Jason Layton).
